We can control carpenter ants, the same way we control other ants, by using baits. The baits are a poisonned food we place at the usual ants spots. Minor workers (ants) have two stomachs, one for themselves and one for the colony. When the ant is eating the bait, the food goes in the two stomachs and infect the ant and the colony. The poison takes a couple of hours to affect the ant. After a couple of days the entire colony is infected with the poison. We also spray the bottom of the walls of each room with a liquid. This liquid directly attack the nervous system when the ant walk on it and finally die. Carpenter ant are commonly seen inside houses. They install their nest in walls with water damage. They can easily find the water they need and it is also easier to dig in the rotten wood to install their nest and eggs. The carpenter ant is black and can be 1-2 cm in lenght. All the wood in the huose can be infected by carpenter ant but they prefer wet area. They are digging their tunnel in rotten wood and you can find some sawdust near their nest. The sawdust indicate very well the place where they are hidding. They usually quit the nest during the night for food. Their food is smaller insects, plants and food from your house (fat and sugar).Interior Treatment
